Michele Primavera, PhD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Primavera joined Summit in November 2019 to provide individual and group therapy to clients ages 18 and older. She earned her PhD in counseling psychology at Washington State University and completed her post-doctoral training at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a member of the American Psychological Association.

Michele brings an integrative perspective to her practice that considers the individual’s personal beliefs, cultural and societal influences, and the therapeutic relationship itself. She examines how gender, physical health, spirituality, sexual orientation, and family of origin relate to one’s mental health. In addition to working with mood and anxiety disorders, Dr. Primavera gravitates towards concerns such as: grief and loss, unresolved family of origin issues, adult AD/HD, balancing work and family, career and academic difficulties, adjustment, women’s issues and sexual orientation exploration issues.

In her free time, Michele enjoys yoga, Zumba, swimming, meditation and simply being outdoors. She is a member of a mindfulness meditation community in Richmond and attends meditation retreats locally. Other favorite relaxation activities include spending time with family and friends, as well as playing with her dog, Reggie.
