Doctoral Level Psychological Assessor

Summit Emotional Health is seeking a doctoral-level psychologist, skilled in psychological and
psychoeducational assessment for children, adolescents, and adults. Summit is a growing private
practice in Richmond, Virginia and we are eager to engage with highly motivated and dynamic

psychiatric services.

comprehensive solutions to our community. Compensation is highly competitive and we seek to
provide a flexible schedule and support individual areas for growth. As an out of network
provider, Summit does not accept insurance or work directly with insurance companies.
Summit will provide Superbills upon request that the client can submit for reimbursement based
on their individual policy. Our exceptional administrative Team coordinates triage calls, intake
scheduling, billing, and marketing to assist all independent contractors to promote excellence in
service in all areas of client care.

Core Duties:

  • Perform initial clinical consultation, in person or telehealth, approximately one-week
    prior to seeing new clients.
  • Perform and conduct psychological and educational assessment and testing including
    but not limited to:

    • Behavioral assessment
    • Cognitive evaluation
    • Determination of psychological diagnoses and disorders
  • Customize testing battery per presenting problem or reported concern.
  • Culminate presentation in testing report during feedback session with identified
    strengths and enforceable or implementable recommendations.
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation (data, HIPAA, consent) has been collected
    from new clients prior to session start.
  • Interact with clients to assist them in gaining insight, defining goals, and planning
    action to achieve effective personal, social, educational, or vocational development and
    adjustment.
  •  Identify psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues, using information obtained
    from interviews, tests, records, or reference materials.
  • Consult with or provide consultation to other doctors, therapists, or clinicians
    regarding client care.
  • Select, administer, score, and interpret psychological tests to obtain information on
    individuals’ intelligence, achievements, interests or personalities in an accurate and
    timely manner.
  • Refer clients to other specialists, institutions, or support services as necessary.
  • Attend school meetings, or other meetings out of the office as deemed necessary for
    treatment.
  • Keep accurate documentation of patient information including intake documents,
    session notes, progress notes, recommendations, and treatment plans.
  • Participate in full Team meetings on a bi-weekly basis, engage in consistent
    Assessment Team collaboration, and maintain consistent engagement and connection
    with the Richmond Community.

Qualifications: Applicants must be licensed in the State of Virginia and hold a PhD or PsyD in
Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Counseling, or other applicable doctoral
degree from an accredited institution with the American Psychological Association (APA). They
need to have completed an APA-accredited internship, as well as a post-doctoral fellowship
focused on assessment.

Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum of two-years, post-licensure clinical
experience. Two years of clinical experience in a private practice setting is strongly preferred.
Full-time and Part-time positions are available. This is an Independent Contractor position,
which provides flexibility in scheduling.

Candidates require extensive training in evidence-based practice, specific to their area of study.
Summit values individuals who have pursued additional clinical training and education to better
serve a specific clinical population or diagnosis. It is expected that candidates can speak to the
evidenced-based practices and therapeutic approaches they specialize in during the interview
process.
