Emily Martin joined Summit in February of 2024 as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in 2003. She has over 20 years of experience working in out-patient settings.
Emily works with adults and specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and substance misuse. Emily is especially committed to and focused on women’s issues such as infertility, exercise and nutrition, life transitions, and parenting. Emily utilizes a strengths-based approach and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with her clients in order to maintain a safe, productive, and honest environment.
Emily is aware that all humans face adversity at some point in their life. She believes that it is an honor and a gift to be able to travel on that journey with her clients as they find peace and healthy solutions for themselves.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two elementary aged children, and their dog named Coco. She also loves traveling, cooking, and seeing live music.
