Summit Emotional Health provides Educational Services that include Consultation, Advocacy, Assessment, and Tutoring. Our Educational Consultant, Alma Morgan, M.Ed., works with parents, children, adolescents, and young adults to help each client reach his or her maximum potential in the school setting. She specializes in IEP/504 Plan development and attends school meetings as a family advocate. When needed, Alma administers Educational Assessments to identify individualized learning needs and strengths, provides career assessments for young adults, and other individualized educational support.
Our Educational Therapist and Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist, Ashley Morck, integrates academic intervention with strategies to address underlying learning processes. Ashley offers evidence-based, multisensory literacy intervention, including the Orton-Gillingham approach, to strengthen areas such as fluency, comprehension, decoding, encoding, written expression, and phonological awareness. She also offers executive functioning support to strengthen areas such as: sustained attention; time management; working memory; task-initiation; cognitive flexibility; metacognition; goal-directed persistence; organization; response inhibition; and planning and prioritization. Sessions are tailored to address the needs of the whole child, with the goal of fostering academic progress, social-emotional development, and self-confidence, while partnering with parents to promote growth across settings.
