He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 2011 with a degree in History and a minor in Creative Writing. During his time there, he played lacrosse and served as team captain his senior year. In 2014, he earned a Master’s of Education in Sport Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.

With over a decade of experience in schools as a teacher, coach, mentor, and administrator, Jake co-founded The Peavey Project in 2021 alongside fellow Mindfulness Coach, Collin McConaghy. The Peavey Project is a local nonprofit offering mindfulness and mental performance training to student-athletes nationwide, while also supporting local businesses and community organizations.

Jake primarily works with high school students and older, using a relationship-centered approach to connect with clients and create customized mindfulness plans that align with the demands of their lives. A passionate daily practitioner himself, Jake is a Certified Mindfulness Teacher, Certified Mindfulness Workplace Facilitator, and Certified MIEA Instructor. He’s committed to helping others reduce stress, improve focus, and realize their full potential through mindfulness.

Outside of work, Jake and his wife, Molly, have three sons and an old Lab named Tucker. Together, they enjoy sports, music, cooking, and spending time outdoors.
