Kristen Norton, LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Kristen joined Summit in October 2021 as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her MSW from the University of South Carolina in 2006 and has been working in mental health for fifteen years at different levels (inpatient, outpatient, and community services).

Kristen works works with adolescents and adults and the many life transitions that accompany these ages, including peer and intimate relationships, academic funtioning and various adjustment disorders. In addition, she specializes in trauma related disorders, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, LGBTQ+ issues, and personality disorders.

Kristen’s primary therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She believes in creating a safe and supportive environment for people in order to encourage therapeutic learning and growth.

As a busy parent to a teenage son, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, collecting and listening to vinyl records, attending comic conventions, and gardening. She uses she/her pronouns.
